Cross Country: Emily's Final Race of the Season and Party

The final race of the middle school cross country season was at home, which meant we were finally able to see our girl in action!!

It was very windy and chilly, but that didn't keep us away.

One of the high school moms takes pictures, with a nice camera, of all the runners from the team and sends out a link, these were from her:

Emily ran hard, but did not beat her P.R.  She's already excited to try again next year. = )

We brought hot chocolate to share with the team, but many had already left by the time we made it back to the tent.

The party was a few weeks later at one of the 6th graders homes.  It was a much prettier day!

The hit of the party was for sure the ATV.  All 5 of mine (yep, even Alice) enjoyed being driven around by an 11-year-old.

We didn't stay long, because it had been a busy week, but I think the kids enjoyed making an appearance.

Emily Runs Cross Country

For reasons known only to her, Emily decided to run cross country this year. = ) Practice is every.day. after school, which has been tough.

She needed to run on her break, since they couldn't have after school practice, so we went to the park, where she could run the baseball diamond, in order to track her progress.

Grace came along to practice riding her bike on a cement court.

Showing off her new uniform!!!

Alice and I had to compromise when it came to afterschool practice, because running out to their school twice every afternoon was too time consuming for yours truly.  We decided that she would stay both days of after school tutorials (which has gone a long way in making her grades nice and high.) On the other days I would run out on either side of collecting the three little ones, once to pick up Alice, then back for Emily.

She only has a half week left of practices, and two meets.  The final meet is at home, so it will be the first (and only) time we get to see our girl in action, but we are looking forward to cheering her on!
