My poor Emily came home sick Tuesday, and woke up ill several times Halloween morning. Since they'd already celebrated at school, she didn't miss a 'special' day, but was a very ill little girl. Avia came over to sit with her while I took the other four to get their flu shots.
Emily's illness threw me off, and I completely forgot to set out their Halloween treats the night before. Alice woke me a few minutes before my alarm to ask where they were. = )
I had them collected and ready to go, just forgot to set them out. I was so excited this year, because I found a hello kitty and Ariel toothbrush! I also found a Scooby Doo one for William, but it was too late, I'd already bought him a Mario one. = (
By evening time, Emily had mostly recovered, but if she relapsed, I wanted it to be at home, not 5 blocks away, so she stayed home to pass our candy with Daddy. [Hence the bear arms & feet in the picture below.]
The weather was much better this year. it was chilly, but not bitterly cold for trick-or-treating. We started just after 6, and ran into lots of the kids classmates & friends.
Juliet was a princess, William a ninja turtle, Grace a fairy, Emily a snow princess, and Alice a Dragon.
About an hour in, the twins and William were tired, so Alice and I dropped them off to help pass out candy, and we went back out to some of the roads we skipped. Alice ran into even more of her friends on round two. Darkness was quickly upon us and it was cold, so we returned just before 8.
At 8pm, the trick-or-treaters abruptly ceased, and once again we were left with far too much in our bowl. = (
So.much.candy.
The kids had a good time, and Emily took staying home pretty well. = )
Happy Halloween!
later days
