Temperature Record 2022

As tough as it seemed to keep a record each day, I feel like it is important. So, I'm keeping a daily high temperature record again this year. = )

Also continuing the daily count from the onset of the pandemic. "Q-"

January

1st- 30F (Q-654) cold and snowy,

2nd- 21F (Q-655) cold, very cold. Overnight snow had to be shoveled.

3rd- 28F (Q-656) cold. No new snow.

4th- 33F (Q-657) cold. Barely crept above freezing.

5th- 22F (Q-658) cold. We were expecting overnight snow, which didn't arrive until later in the day, with some strong winds.

6th- 22F (Q-659) cold, another dusting of snow in the afternoon, but it was so dry that it didn't stick much. V1 EWGJ

7th- 21F (Q-660) cold. Bitter, windy, brutal cold. Clear skies though, so everything sparkled in the sunlight.

8th- 31F (Q-661) cold, a little overcast, but no new snow.

9th- 26F (Q-662) cold, brutally windy.

10th- 16F (Q-663) cold, miserably, unbearably cold, just to step outside.

11th- 24F (Q-664) cold. Overcast, not the prettiest day to celebrate our favorite husband/father, but I think he had a good day, just the same.

12th- 39F (Q-665) cold, but being above freezing was very welcomed!

13th- 33F (Q-666) so cold, and overcast, foggy. It was a dreary kind of day.

14th- 23F (Q-667) cold, with a little precipitation blowing around.

15th- 20F (Q-668) cold, a little sun, but mostly overcast.

16th- 31F (Q-669) cold, but sunny.

17th- 30F (Q-670) cold, a light snow, but not much accumulation.

18th- 35F (Q-671) the slight bump above freezing was not enough to melt ice that formed where the last snow had not been removed.

19th- 26F (Q-672) cold, windy, even some snow flakes.

20th- 19F (Q-673) cold, overcast.

21st- 23F (Q-674) cold, but mostly sunny. V2 Alice

22nd- 26F (Q-675) cold, snowy, but a nice day to play games with the Cornishes.

23rd- 19F (Q-676) cold. Enough overnight snow that it had to be shoveled. Sunny morning, overcast afternoon.

24th- 25F (Q-677) cold. Lots of snow. Alice helped me shovel.

25th- 20F (Q-678) cold, a few light snow showers, but the roads were manageable.

26th- 19F (Q-679) cold, but brilliantly sunny.

27th- 28F (Q-670) cold, overcast, a little evening snow.

28th- 18F (Q-671) cold, sunny, but so so cold. V2 EWGJ

29th- 22F (Q-672) cold, overcast, snow furriest.

30th- 27F (Q-673) cold, a light dusting overnight, overcast most of the day.

31st- 31F (Q-674) didn't feel quite as miserable.

February

1st- 48F!! (Q-675) we almost hit 50 degrees, it felt so much warmer than the past few weeks.

2nd- 28F (Q-676) cold, a foot of snow fell. Alice and I ended up shoveling twice, and there was still more coming down.

3rd- 19F (Q-677) cold, and another round of snow removal this morning.

4th- 19F (Q-678) brutally cold, and treacherous enough roads that they cancelled our enrichment day.

5th- 27F (Q-679) cold, a small overnight snow. Nice day to hang out and play games with friends.

6th- 33F (Q-680) cold, sunny, still lots of snow on the ground.

7th- 30F (Q-681) cold, overcast, a little snow in the evening.

8th- 31F (Q-682) cold, overcast, then a sunny afternoon.

9th- 41F (Q-683) cold, overcast, expecting some overnight snow.

10th- 30F (Q-684) cold, snow flurries, the road was okay when the sun peaked out in the afternoon.  Sidewalks are slippery and hazardous.

11th- 39F (Q-685) cold, wet, and started the day by shovelling some wet overnight snow. Poor Billy wiped out on the way to his car on a patch of ice that hardened overnight.

12th- 19F (Q-686) cold, overnight sleet feel on a later of ice. William had a belt test today though, so Alice and I put out lots of salt.

13th- 19F (Q-687) cold, enough snow for Alice and I to have to shovel again.

14th- 22F (Q-688) cold, but at least no new snow.

15th- 30F (Q-689) cold, the main roads were fully cleared, and the side roads were manageable.

16th- 49F (Q- 690) cold, but warmer than it has been. We are expecting a snow event tonight.

17th- 36F (Q-691) cold.  We set the high in the morning, and it got colder all day long.  At least it didn't freeze all the water that is on the roads overnight.  It was very wet yesterday. And we are currently expecting snow tonight.

18th- 27F (Q-692) cold, overnight snow cancelled our enrichment day. Alice and I cleared the snow early, and the roads were not atrocious when I went for our grocery appointment.

19th- 21F (Q-693) overnight snow for Avia's sleep over. The plows came through, but we didn't shovel, as not much accumulated.

20th- 47F (Q-694) lots of melting snow, lots of cold wind.

21st- 46F (Q-695) the sun was brilliant and felt so good when we went out for our nature trip today.

22nd- 52F (Q-696) the day was grey, rainy and foggy.  At least it wasn't brutally cold.

23rd- 25F (Q-697) cold, snowy, but didn't stay thanks to our past couple of "warm" days.

24th- 28F (Q-698) cold, and we are expecting 2-4" of snow tonight. Also, unrelated, but might be noteworthy, Russia declared war on Ukraine today.

25th- 26F (Q-699) cold, more overnight snow. My kind neighbor was back and cleared both drives for us!

26th- 31F (Q-700) cold, and windy, but a sunny afternoon. A pleasant day to attend the Viking fest in Charlotte with the Cornishes.

27th- 38F (Q-701) cold, but sunny.

28th- 38F (Q-702) cold, with a sunny morning, but overcast afternoon.

6th- 41F (Q-708) we hit the high early in the day, and had high wind warnings.

7th- 34F (Q-709) it snowed quite a bit today, then melted away in the afternoon sun.

8th- 38F (Q-710) cold, but the sun made it feel warmer than it was.

9th- 44F (Q-711) still cold, sunny, but also windy.

10th- 34F (Q-712) cold, watery sun, windy.

11th- 30F (Q-713) overnight 6" of snow caught us all by surprise. My wonderful neighbor came by with his plow and our immediate neighbor knocked out a good bit of our sidewalk, so I only spent 10 minutes on snow removal.

12th- 20F (Q-714) cloudy and cold.

13th- 40F (Q-715) cold, and more snow, but sunny enough to melt what fell on the pavement.

14th-54F (Q-716) cold, sunny, but a rough morning thanks to the time change.

15th- 53F (Q-717) cold, melting snow, and delightfully sunny.

16th- 66F (Q-718) it didn't hurt to go outside!!

17th- 72F!!! (Q-710) y'all! It felt so good, I couldn't wait to get outside and do some chores. We knocked out the burn pile, picked up brand branches, and trimmed part of the flower bed for new growth.

18th- 55F (Q-711) the salubrious weather has abated, and it was back to cold, windy and even a little precipitation.

19th- 44F (Q-712) rainy, overcast and cold.

20th- 57F (Q-713) sunny and flirting with warm.

21st- 64F (Q-714) sunny, and warm enough for the kids to ask for swimsuits (but it was totally not warm enough for that.)

22nd- 46F (Q-715) overcast, a little drizzle, cold.

23rd-51F (Q-716, masks are now optional everywhere) rainy and cloudy and cold.

24th- 47F (Q-717) overcast, rainy and cold.

25th- 47F (Q-718) a little snow midday, scattered rain.

26th- 34F (Q-719) there was snow, on the ground, and more falling when we woke up this morning. Ugh.

27th- 28F (Q-720) cold, but decisively sunny.

28th- 32F (Q-721) cold, a little windy, not the best to knock out our outdoor spring break list. So, we made baguettes, dinner dumplings, dessert dumplings and Alice made garlic bread.

29th- 43F (Q-722) cold, sunny, and we are expecting overnight precipitation.

30th- 59F (Q-723) cold, bouts of rain.

31st- 41F (Q-724) cold, windy.

8th- 44F (Q-732) cold and rainy.

9th- 50F (Q-733) cold, watery sun.

10th-  57F (Q-734) cold, but sunny and still and felt lovely to work outside.

11th- 65F (Q- 735) cold, but sunny and it warmed up enough that Emily, Grace and William spent hours outside in the warmer weather.

12th- 66F (Q-736) a pleasant, sunny day.

13th- 67F (Q-737) warm, but rainy.

14th- 53F (Q-737) cold and oh so windy.

17th- 41F (Q-740) sunny and still, but a cold Easter Sunday.

18th- 39F (Q-741) cold, and snowy/rainy. Gross.

19th- 42F (Q-742) cold, windy, the sun tried to come out, but only succeeded in melting the overnight snow and then hid again.

20th- 54F (Q-743) cold, windy, very little sun, but we took our nature walk anyhow.

21st- 62F (Q-744) rainy morning, but once the clouds cleared out it was warm enough for a walk without my coat!

23rd- 80F a beautiful day to celebrate four 8-year-olds! (G/J and their bffs.)

24th- 79F the warmth stuck around, but the sun did not. It was a little rainy, and a little cloudy, bit we saw a few minutes of sun.

25th- 58F my world is cold and gray.

26th- 43F the day started cold and the wind just drove the temperature down down down.

27th- 46F cold, deceptively sunny.

28th- 54F cold, but sunny. Mowed for the first time this year, but my lawnmower battery gave out during the transition from the front yard to the backyard.

29th- 60F a chill in the air, but sunny and still, and a pretty day.

30th- 61F no sun, but rain off and on made for a cold day. I planted my garden seeds inside today!

May

1st- 61F off and on rain. Planted a few plants outside, and covered a few with milk carton greenhouses. I'll cover the others as we drink more milk.

10th- 79F overcast, and warm, but the wind was still chilling.

11th- 84F warm and lots of sun. I little overcast in the evening. Billy got whatever Emily and I had.

13th- 86F lovely and sunny and warm.

14th- 85F a pretty day for a spring farmer's market and game day with the Cornishes.

15th- 82F sunny most of the day, while Emily had her pictures taken for ballet. Avia instigated an impromptu park trip with Emily, Grace and Juliet who got in a little swim time. We dropped Billy off at the airport, he'll be in Texas this week for work.

16th- 73F sunny, but windy and cooling down. My washer stopped draining, mid-load so I hung the sopping wet towels on the fence to dry, so that I can take some loads over to Sarah's.

17th- 66F sunny, but so chilly that I had to switch back into pants. William rocked his belt test and is now an 8th kyu.

18th- 56F cold, rainy and dreary. Despite all that, my refrigerator, washer and car are all fixed and Billy is home!!

19th- 76F chilly, cloudy morning, but the sun came out and dried things off. Mowed the lawn, but it seems to be growing extra fast this year!

17th- 81F warm enough that my children "swam" in the pool for almost 4 hours! We also celebrated an early Scooby Doo Day. = )

18th- 73F cold so cold in the shade, but the zoo animals loved it. And the kids still insisted on a swim day.

24th- 63F a chilly, overcast day. We started with some rain and didn't see the sun at all.

25th- 64F more chill, clouds and rain.

26th- 57F a cold, rainy day to be outside, though, it did hold off until the end of Emily's zoo field trip!

27th- 59F cold and off and on rainy. WGJ p/t conferences went well.

28th- 58F cold with some clouds, but not terribly dreary.

29th- 60F chilly, but sunny.

30th-65F cold morning, pretty day, cold night to work the football stand.

October

1st- 66F a pretty day, we caught the very beginning of oktoberfest at horrocks.

2nd- 64F a nice day, the air is so chilly. William had a great time at a friend's party today!

3rd- 68F a sunny day, with a foggy start

4th-70F a pretty day, lots of chill in the air. Emily had a Tuesday meet, which was a little strange.

5th-  72F it is chilly, but another sunny, pleasant day.

6th- 71F a warm enough day, mostly sunny, but some cold wind and rain blew in after dark

7th- 50F it was cold and windy, but we learned to play euchre.

8th- 52F it was cold and windy, but a little sunny for Emily's race (with a 530 wake up call.)

9th- 66F not as awful as it's been, but cold in the wind! Leaves are all fall colors and raining down.

10th- 63F a pretty day.

11th- 74F the final pretty day on the calendar, probably for the year. Grace helped me tear out our decrepit garden vines and flourishing weeds, to ready it for winter.

12th- 69F warmer than I expected. A few bouts of rain. As well as first raking of the season.

13th- 51F rainy off and on, windy and chilly all day.

14th- 55F a pretty, sunny day, for a drive down to Ann Arbor.

15th- 52F a clear, chilly, evening to go watch an outdoor movie and hang out by a fire pit with some friends.

16th- 51F a clam, cold autumn day.

17th- 44F a rainy cold day. Emily braved the weather for her penultimate cross country meet of the year.

18th- 41F another cold rainy day.

19th- 45F and windy! Rainy morning, but it cleared out in time for Emily's final cross country meet of the year.

20th- 49F we didn't get quite as warm as they predicted, but we did get our first snow on this side of summer.

21st- 68F a pleasant end to the football season in the concession stand.

22nd- 76F! it was warm and lovely for the clothes we wore to the end of season cross country party!

23rd- 75F another warm pretty day to tackle outside projects!

24th- 77F I didn't even need my jacket today. We cleaned up another round of leaves.

25th- 72F We used the warm day to rake leaves, again. It's really crazy how many leaves fall each day.

26th- 58F was the high! With the rain it just got colder and colder. Also, most of the leaves are in our yard and off the trees.

27th- 51F no wind, no rain, full sun. It wasn't an awful day to mulch the leaves with my mower.

28th- 62F another best as can be October day! Sunny, no wind, no rain, just wonderful weather for our first time hosting a trunk at trunk or treat.

29th- 63F another pretty day. Despite the chili, we headed to swim at a glow party in Charlotte (indoors of course.)

30th- 61F another pretty day. And a blissfully lazy one.

31st- 58F a rainy, foggy start to the day, but we had a nice evening for trick or treating! I think this is the warmest Halloween we've had since we moved here!

November

1st- 66F sunny and pretty.

2nd- 67F sunny and warm and lovely for November!!

3rd- 70F on my birthday! In November! I'm Michigan!

4th- 70F a slightly windy day, but still warm enough to show Erin Elise around our corner of Michigan.

5th- 67F and Erin Elise brought the west Texas wind with her! It was a little dark and rainy, but warm enough for a murder.

6th- 64F a nice morning spent with Erin Elise before she left.

7th- 53F the air is so cold, but the sun felt nice and the wind was scarce.

11th- 59F today we felt the cold descending upon us.

12th-  39F winter is here.

13th- 37F so cold, and a few stray flakes.

14th- 37F cold, not as windy, the sun peeked out for just a few moments.

15th- 35F  the first sticking snow of the season!

16th- 35F cold, but no new snow.

17th- 32F cold and snow off and on all day. Nothing treacherous so far.

18th- 30F enough snow that potterville cancelled, but the litte ones still had school. Grace stayed home sick, and when Juliet was sent home, I grabbed William too, and we had a quiet day at home.

19th- 25F an overcast day, with a little snow, and slow recovery for my sick ones.

20th- 25F a little snow overnight and in the morning. A beautiful sun in the afternoon.

21st- 38F cold, but sunny. Felt good to be above freezing for a bit.

22nd- 45F cold, but in the sun, it was still cold. Lol

23rd-  57F y'all, my car read 57 today! It wasn't biting cold. Not warm by any means, but one more day that the cold was not trying to kill me.

24th- 53F a wonderful Thanksgiving. We could have had much a much chillier picture session and outdoor lighting. I'll try not to complain. = )

25th-  49F Juliet had a quick visit to Helen DeVos, then we went to do fun things at the mall!

26th- 55F not brutal, but still spent the majority of the day indoors.

27th- 40F cold and wet.

28th- 43F cold, breezy, but subbed in the office for the first time, so didn't get out much.

29th- 52F grey and windy, the sun came out late in the day.

30th- 30F so so windy. I ran home on a break (I was subbing with the little ones today) to grab their ski pants and boots. It was miserable outdoors, but they still went out to the playground.

December

1st- 36F but with the sun and no wind felt much less brutal than yesterday.

2nd- 47F will, that's what my car said, but it was so cold. The clouds were phenomenal though.

3rd- 32F cold and biting wind

14th- 41F cold and a little windy.

15th- 40F cold, and the wind made it feel much colder.

16th- 32F cold, a little sleet, little snow, good start to Christmas vacation.

17th- 27F cold, but a decent amount of snow.

18th- 26F cold, but nice day to go nowhere and make our annual gingerbread house. = )

19th- 26F cold, bone chilling wind, no new snow.

20th- 32F cold, sunny, kind of still before the storm blows in on Thursday.

21st- 33F cold, overcast, but no sign of the incoming storm.

22st- 37F cold, and the storm (or at least snow) has arrived, but seems to be pretty puny compared to what they were calling for. (20+ inches of snow)

23rd- 8F cold, bitterly cold and windy, not the most fun time of shovelling, though it was only a few inches, not the overwhelming amount that they called for.

24th- 18F so much snow, and a bit of wind. Our sweet neighbors shovelled and plowed a bit of our area too, so thankfully we didn't have to get out in it today.

25th- 17F even more snow! A little shovelling today, but maybe the storm is slowing down?

26th- 22F a chilly day to venture out, but Emily and I dropped off recycling and Christmas dinner at Aunt Rocky's, then found a few treasures at the thrift shop, then got some tasty food at Aldi. The roads were getting bad again as we ventured home.

27th- 25F the snow is still thick on the ground, but it was sunny, albeit cold.
