Canoeing

Since we moved here (almost a year ago) it has been Billy's dream to paddle up the river from one of the nearby towns.

One afternoon, this summer, we found that a park nearby rents out canoes and kayaks, and will even drop you off upstream!  So, after several weeks, I finally consented to taking all of our dear ones for an afternoon on the river.

The rentals only allow for 3 passengers, so we tried to talk to Aunt Rocky into joining us, but she was unavailable.  Plan B was letting Juliet hang out with Avia for the afternoon (which she really enjoyed!)

They had 3 full vans, and as this was our inaugural trip, we chose the shortest option, and were dropped off first.

I left my phone at home, just in case someone ::cough:: William ::cough:: capsized us. So, Emily was the photographer for most of the day. She used one of our old, cracked tablets, so that I could stress less about losing or destroying it.  = )

Alice is pouting here because she is tired of waiting, not because she is dreading the canoe trip. = )

Alice helped Billy paddle, and William and Emily took turns helping me.

Our lack of rain translated to the river being quite low, and slow moving in some areas, but it was absolutely beautiful!

It was a pleasant trip.  I was happy that we'd chosen the shortest time, as we were all pretty hot and tired after our journey.

Hopefully we will be able to find a way for Juliet to join us next time!
