We decided the additional $40 could be better spent elsewhere, and just let the kids ride the rides until almost dark (about 10pm here.)
Avia came with us, and Billy picked up her car and met us there after work. We purchased the wristbands for unlimited rides (totally the way to go) and gave each child $5 to spend as they wished.
After picking up Alice, we drove straight to the fair, eating dinner sandwiches en route. The $5 entry fee also covered parking, which was fantastic in my opinion!
My mom and the big girls hung out by the big kid rides, but Emily was not tall enough to ride alone, so Avia bought a band to ride with her.
We ran into a similar issue with the twins. They were tall enough on many things, but some rides they had to have an adult. So, once the big girls had had their fun, they joined up with us.
William had no idea how to use the burlap mat that you sit on to slide down, so he wore it around like a monk frock. I laughed so hard.
The twins had to take turns on the big slide with Avia:
Juliet spent her cash on a fishing game. She won a blowup pony.
Once Juliet had one, Grace of course wanted one too. Guess who got to hold them?!
Avia stayed for a bit after Billy arrived, but was able to leave when she was finished. It was a good plan. = )
After a while, Alice wanted to go back to the big rides, but Emily was having more fun on the rides she could do alone, so Billy took Alice Back while I walked around with the other four.

I was a little disappointed about the trucks, but we were able to hear them just fine! It was the best kind of evening, but made for a late night to the start of a very busy week.
