In the last two weeks, I've chaperoned 3 of my children on field trips to the local zoo! Grace and Juliet each were allowed to bring a "special guest." They picked me and Avia. = )
We didn't have to stay with the group, so the four of us set off to look at anything we thought might be of interest. The twins thought a black squirrel climbing the tree was interesting.
And the monkeys.

Looking at all the fun places we went right before they left.
We had lovely warm sunny weather. The trip only lasted a few hours, which was just right for these two. = )

Emily's field trip was the following Tuesday. We also split off into small groups*, and I was assigned one of her classmates too. 3 is a fun number to explore the zoo though, and we had a good time.
At almost every exhibit, Emily paused to pretend to be one of the animals. = )
We ran into some of the other groups a few times.
The petting zoo was open this time. Emily was excited to pet the chickens. They were not as excited.
We met up with Abby's group as we were leaving.
It was a much chillier day for Emily's trip. The inside exhibits were a welcome relief from the cold wind. We still had a nice visit, despite the cold.

*I was chatting with her teacher, and she had lots of parents sign up to chaperone, but almost all of them were for the girls in the class. So, there were lots of boy girl pairs for this trip. = )
