One of the things we missed during our homeschool time was an excuse to go roller-skating as a family! So, for almost all of the school's fundraising events, we loaded up and headed to the rink!
William* and Matthew competing in the event!
Alice invited me to compete with her too, and there were so many competitors they had to break us up into two groups!
We came in 2nd place in the 'slow' group. lol! It was a good time, and fun to win for sure! Alice picked out a cookie and a pretzel for us to share with everyone when she redeemed our winning tickets. = )
The next night of skating was very close to this one (I think this one may have been a makeup from one that was upset by a weather event) so we didn't end up going to the last one of the year.
It's a little sad that next year might be our final year to have an excuse to go as a family, since the twins are finishing up elementary school next year! But for now we have a few more skate nights to look forward to!
later days
*William forgot his skates at home, so we had to rent some, and I had a mom fail when I let him use roller blades, despite his years of orthotics because of his weak ankles. I guess it's testament to the fact that he is not controlled by his disease!
