Ukulele Camp

Emily's ukulele camp spanned the final days of July and first days of August.  It was a half day camp, and much closer to home.  Since Avia was in Texas during this time (she flew in after we picked Emily up on the final day) all 6 of us dropped off and picked up our Emily!

As expected, Emily was all smiles every morning:

There were a few activities in the hallway to occupy some time before the start of camp.

We took some pictures while we waited, too.

The other four enjoyed having the board to themselves while we waited for Emily's class to end.

"Act like you just jumped out of the door:"

On Emily's final day, we ventured to a park nearby.  It is right off of the river in Lansing, and the towers of the power plant, adjacent to the Oldsmobile factory, are so tall it created a feeling of vertigo when I looked at them!

I think Emily had a great time!  Being the social butterfly she is, she was sad to leave her new friends after only four days. But, she got to learn to play a few simple songs, and paint her very own ukulele to bring home.

Next year, she wants to go to camp for a little while longer.  I think we can make that happen.
