Quick Trip to the Dentist

This is the latest post in the series of William, grace and Juliet's journey with hypophosphatasia.

We rushed away from Emily's Research project so that we could be on time for the Twins' dentist appointment at U of M.  Even hitting some of the worst traffic that I've been in since we've arrived (it wasn't really bad at all, just bad for here) we were quite early.

As we were crossing the courtyard, we saw that "Hawkeye" the therapy dog was in his 'office' today, so we went to say hi.  The girls were really excited, and of course the college kids loved the twins. = )

On each poster we passed as we left, Grace would point to Hawkeye's picture and say "Look! He's famous!" = )

We still had more time, so we went to check out the vendor tents they were setting up.  Nothing was up and running yet, so we just walked around.

We spotted a wild bunny on campus!  Can you find it?

Right here:

There was an entrance to a theater that we were going to pass, but when we saw a student go in, the girls wanted to check it out.  So, we followed.  It is an odd building.  Inside I saw signs for a campus information desk, theater, box office sales, event coordinators, an inn, and the legacy club!

We found a nifty waiting area that the twins were happy to make themselves at home in.

Grace's boots were awfully noisy in the long quiet coridor, so we exited at the first opportunity, which led into a secluded garden, filled with students (and maybe professors?) working away.

We still had a bit of time, so we found a place to eat our packed lunch, then headed for the office.

They took Juliet back in no time at all, but Grace's dentist hadn't come out by the time Juliet was finished.  After Juliet's dentist went to check on the situation, she came back out to let us know it would be a wait, and that she could do the surprisingly short procedure on Grace too.  Since we were trying to make it back for William's picnic, I took her up on the offer.

Both girls complained about the spacers after we left, but haven't complained much since.  This coming Wednesday we will head back down to have the teeth covered, which is a much longer procedure. = (

It's a shame that we had such a drive for a quick procedure, but I know they are going to the dentists that are the best for them. And we did make it back in time for the end of William's picnic!
