This was the final family math night that Alice will attend at this school! It makes me kind of sad to think about. But, she'll still probably come with us, at least for a couple more years.
The night started at 5:15, and in an effort to minimize how much rushing we would do, we made plans to stay at the school in the interim.
Emily's teacher tapped them to help pick up her room, and paid them with treats ; ), which entertained them for a bit. I figured we would work on homework, but because of Math Night, and being the Monday of Thanksgiving week, they didn't have any (except for reading.)
Once that was done, we ate the snacks I had packed, and borrowed a game from Emily's teacher. Alice and William played for a while, while the rest of us decorated a box. = )
Before we knew it, it was time for Math Night! We threw our things in the car, and picked a room. Billy met us right when we had paused for dinner.
Even Billy enjoyed some of the puzzles.
Emily and Alice milled about until Abby arrived, then they mucked about with her. = )
At the end of the night, Alice, William and Juliet all won games in the raffle. Alice and Grace both brought home a copy of UNO (which we already own, and its a really nice copy) and neither of them will let me get rid of their copy. There were also some tears, because this is the second year in a row Grace has won, and Juliet "never wins." = ( They enjoyed playing together when we got home though. = )
We are already looking forward to Reading Night in the spring.
later days
