The twins found a singing and dancing llama at Menards. They thought it was really funny.
We bought* a recliner for Edudi in preparation for their visit, and the first thing my little ones did was climb in and say "take a picture, all 5 of us are in the chair!" I'm glad they remember all of the pictures we took in the big green chair, that we abandoned in Houston. = ( Maybe we can pick back up the tradition in this old, dilapidated chair. = )
How story time looks when daddy reads with us:
I got a package with a snow scrapper, all the way from Texas! Thank you Chelsea = )
Bill and Brenda came up on Sunday evening, so we had a full house all week! The kids had school on Monday and Tuesday, but since Billy had taken the week off, we were able to knock out more tasks than usual. = )
On Wednesday night they took the kids up to chuck e cheese, and we headed on a date to trivia night at Charlie's! We walked, because it's only 3 blocks, but my goodness was it cold!
Thanksgiving day we had a lovely meal, quite late in the day. It makes my heart happy to have a table full of people and food!
This thanksgiving I am thankful for my dear little ones, among other things:
Deviating from our tradition, it was Friday before we set up our Christmas decorations. We also added our newest ornaments, in addition to our classic ones.
All 7 of us ventured to Menards on Saturday. Daddy was shopping for plumbing, which is pretty boring, so the kids had to make their own fun.
William received a late Birthday gift in the mail, and in the few weeks since his party, he went from signing only a W to writing his entire name!
I'm so thankful for Thanksgiving, and a time of rest before the busy season of parties and planning and gifts goes into full swing. Hoping that we are able to focus more on the reason for the season this year, and enjoy this time as a family!
later days
*It was $8 at goodwill. I figured we'd get rid of it as soon as the Crockers left, or possibly move it to the basement for future visits. But the kids love it and Billy uses it, so apparently we are keeping this ugly, temporary chair for the foreseeable future. = /
